You know our education system is failing when the term MEP confuses a group of academics. When I discussed the European elections most people could not see beyond the Euro, but there is so much more on the table here. The European parliament is growing to become more powerful as time goes on.
It’s not that people don’t understand what the European elections are about, it’s more so that we are not educated it about such things in school. I can’t remember being taught anything about democaracy, parliament or the worth of my vote. Have we simply failed to misundersatnd what importance politics has in the way we live our lives or is it atht we just don’t teach politics enough in school?
